Professor Ata is a professor of Building Structures. He teaches in the areas of Building Materials/Structures and Construction Technology.  He has been actively involved in teaching and supervision of research projects of final year undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Professor Ata has been actively involved in the activities of the Department, Faculty and the University. He has been Part Adviser, Examination Officer, Acting Head of Department, etc. He is diligent, responsible, loyal and committed.

Professor Ata’s current research activities centre on mechanical, elastic and durability properties of laterized concrete. One the research works focuses on the effects of non-standard curing on the mechanical properties of laterized concrete. Effects of temperature on Poisson’s ratio and deformability of laterized concrete are also being examined by his other research works.

He is happily married with children.
