Professor Olanipekun Emmanuel Abiodun is a lecturer at the Department of Building, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is a Professor of Building Services, and teaches courses in the areas of Building Services, Building and Environmental Science, Climate and Thermal Comfort, Energy Management, Lighting and Illumination, Water Supply and Sewage Management in Buildings at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has over 30 years of teaching experience.

Professor Olanipekun has supervised many postgraduate students both at M.Sc. and PhD levels and guided several B.Sc. final year students in the preparation of their dissertations.  He has also served as reviewers for many Built Environment and Construction Research Journals. He has at various times served as a Visiting Professor to Federal University of Technology, Akure, University of Lagos, Akoka, Covenant University, Ota, Osun State University, Osogbo, Redeemer University, Ede and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

Beyond academic activities, Professor has served as a Consultant to the Federal Government of Nigeria on the construction of several Universal Basic Education (UBE) classroom blocks in Osun State (UBE Project). He has served as Examiners to the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) and Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers for organised professional examinations. He has served as the Public Relation Officer of NIOB, Osun State Chapter (2007). He has also served as a Resource/Speaker at a workshop on the “Implementation of Mechanical and Electrical Services in Building Projects” organised by CORBON. Professor Olanipekun is currently a member of CORBON Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Building.

Professor Olanipekun has been and still involves in the design and supervision of several Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects. He has equally served as a project manager for many building projects. In all these duties, he has shown a high sense of responsibility, commitment and dedication.

Professor Olanipekun is married and the marriage is blessed with three kids.
